Established in 1986, Burnaby Hospice Society is a volunteer-based organization dedicated to providing compassionate care to individuals and families during the end-of-life journey and to educating the community about dying and bereavement.

Office Safety Procedures

Effective August 6, 2020, it is mandatory to wear a mask while visiting Burnaby Hospice Society at Pioneer Resource Centre. If you do not have one, one will be provided.

Am I allowed inside?

The front door will remain closed to the public; open by appointment only.
Anyone [clients, visitors, volunteers, staff] displaying symptoms [fever, cough, sore throat, running nose, shortness of breath, etc.] will not be allowed into the office.
Anyone who has travelled internationally in the last 14 days will not be allowed into the office.
Anyone who lives in the same household as someone displaying symptoms [fever, cough, sore throat, running nose, shortness of breath, etc.] or been exposed to a confirmed case of an infected person will not be allowed in the office for 14 days.

What can I expect when I arrive?

All individuals will have to sanitize their hands prior to entering; sanitizer will be provided near the 5^th floor elevator.
All clients must wait outside or in the 1^st floor elevator lobby until their appointment time; Clients will be asked to show up no earlier than 5 minutes prior to their appointment.
Counselling office will have a plexiglass shield, and the 6′ social distancing will remain in place during the session.
No shared food for group meetings; no cups or utensils provided; individuals must bring their own foods (including drinks) and/or utensils;
Everyone is required to participate in 6’ social distancing.
