Office Safety Procedures

Effective August 6, 2020, it is mandatory to wear a mask while visiting Burnaby Hospice Society at Pioneer Resource Centre. If you do not have one, one will be provided.

Am I allowed inside?

  • The front door will remain closed to the public; open by appointment only.
  • Anyone [clients, visitors, volunteers, staff] displaying symptoms [fever, cough, sore throat, running nose, shortness of breath, etc.] will not be allowed into the office.
  • Anyone who has travelled internationally in the last 14 days will not be allowed into the office.
  • Anyone who lives in the same household as someone displaying symptoms [fever, cough, sore throat, running nose, shortness of breath, etc.] or been exposed to a confirmed case of an infected person will not be allowed in the office for 14 days.

What can I expect when I arrive?

  • All individuals will have to sanitize their hands prior to entering; sanitizer will be provided near the 5th floor elevator.
  • All clients must wait outside or in the 1st floor elevator lobby until their appointment time; Clients will be asked to show up no earlier than 5 minutes prior to their appointment.
  • Counselling office will have a plexiglass shield, and the 6′ social distancing will remain in place during the session.
  • No shared food for group meetings; no cups or utensils provided; individuals must bring their own foods (including drinks) and/or utensils;
  • Everyone is required to participate in 6’ social distancing.

Is the office being cleaned?

  • Counselling office will be thoroughly cleaned after each client.
  • Elevators will be cleaned regularly.
  •  The Office will have increased and enhanced cleaning on a regular basis
